Check the adjustment of the symbol by replacing the symbol outputs using the Output Test command. You can use this command to swap the symbol input geometry with the geometry coming from the model. For more information, see Output Test Command.

  1. Start 2D Symbols, and open the BeforeEvaluate version of the symbol. The software displays two sets of input geometry: the inputs from the symbol, and the input geometry coming from the model.

  2. Click Output Test on the Add-In ribbon bar.

  3. Click the Replace Geometry tab on the Output Test dialog box.

  4. Select the symbol geometry.

  5. Select the model geometry that should replace the symbol geometry.

The "from" and "to" elements must be the same type. For example, you cannot map a spline to a line. You must map a spline to a spline.

  6. Click OK.

The symbol should take the model geometry and adjust to the proper dimensions. If the symbol cannot adjust, a picture displays showing the geometry. Click on each line and dimension to see a list of constraints. Some geometry may be over-constrained.
