The list below describes a typical workflow for configuring an integrated environment.

Setup your SmartPlant Enterprise data warehouse environment, including setting up your database server and installing and setting up SmartPlant Foundation on an application server. For procedures and recommendations, see Application Server Installation and Setup for SmartPlant Foundation.

Determine the mapping requirements in order to publish objects in your authoring tool databases to the SmartPlant schema. For more information, see Mapping and Schema Configuration.

Publish the Plant Breakdown Structure for the integrated environment. For more information about creating a custom PBS, see Creating an alternate plant breakdown structure (PBS).

Configure your integrated authoring tools to allow publishing to and retrieving from the SmartPlant data warehouse, as required. For more information, refer to the appropriate section in this guide for using your tool for integration.

Prepare and execute a backup and restoration plan for the data in the integrated environment.
