This section provides a list of the steps required to successfully upgrade Integrity. This list guides you through the other sections of this document.

  1. Install the Full-Text and Semantic Extractions for Search feature in SQL Server if not already installed. This is an optional component of the SQL Server Database Engine. For more information, see Installing Full-Text Search for SQL Server.

  2. Back up the current database and several configuration and licensing files. For more information, see Backing Up the Database and Configuration Files.

  3. Record the group/user security permissions. For more information, see Recording Group/User Names and Permissions.

  4. Stop the PASIntegrityScheduler service.

  5. Uninstall Integrity. For more information, see Uninstalling Integrity.

  6. Install the latest version of Integrity. For more information, see Installing the Latest Version of Integrity.

  7. Validate your updated version license. For more information, see Validating the Updated Product Version License.

  8. Upgrade your database, if needed. For more information, see Upgrading the Database.

  9. Make sure to configure the Integrity services to run using appropriate accounts and start the services you need for your installation. For more information, see Defining Your Service Accounts.

  10. Make sure the IntegrityAppPool application pool uses the latest .NET Framework. For more information, see Set the Application Pool to Use .NET 4.8.

  11. Verify the Web application settings. For more information, see Verifying Web Application Settings Following an Upgrade.

  12. If you are upgrading from a previous version that is using Data Forwarding and Receiving, upgrade your data forwarding environment. For more information, see Upgrading Data Forwarding.

  13. If you are upgrading from a previous version that is using Vulnerability Management, upgrade Vulnerability Management settings. For more information, see Upgrading Vulnerability Management.

  14. Review and consider any updated asset models. For more information, see Importing Updated Asset Models and Scheduling Data Imports.

  15. Verify assets and asset details in Integrity. For more information, see Verifying Upgrade Success.
