To restrict access for a user to only a specific set of assets, you can either define a custom role for that set of assets or you can use the asset hierarchy to assign access permissions. Then, you can assign a built-in primary role to the user to define the tasks the user can perform. For more information about custom roles, see Understanding Built-In Primary Roles†on page 31.

To restrict access to specific assets:

  1. Open Configuration Manager on the Integrity server. To open Configuration Manager, run the following file:

    InstallPath\DataCollector\ConfigurationManager.exe

  2. Click CyberIntegrityInventory in the list at the top left.

  3. Expand the tree and select the particular node you would like the user to have permissions for.

  4. Click the Assign Permissions tab.

  5. In the User Permissions section, click the Edit button below the Allow, Allow read only, or Deny list.

  6. In the Select Users window, select the Users to allow or deny access, and then click Add >> so they are moved to the list on the right. When you are done, click OK.

  7. In the Group Permissions section, click the Edit button below the Allow, Allow read only, or Deny list.

  8. In the Select Groups window, select the Groups to allow or deny access, and then click Add >> so they are moved to the list on the right. When you are done, click OK.

  9. Test the permissions by clicking Test. The Permission Test window is displayed to list the configured permissions.

  10. Click Save to save the assigned permissions.
