Many project defaults are application-specific and are not available for all project types. As such, the project that you select in the Project View panel controls what is displayed on the Project Defaults tab. For information about defining project defaults, see Set project defaults.

Additional specification folder

Specifies the full path location to the folder that contains available secondary specifications. Components that you place from these specifications do not generate specification breaks on the isometric drawing. The folder location that this setting defines displays in the Spec column on the Item Code dialog box in I-Configure.

API project ID

Displays the system-generated ID for an IsogenDB project or a SpoolgenDB project. This ID establishes a link between the project and the Spoolgen database.

API URL

Specifies the Web API address of the database to which the IsogenDB project or the SpoolgenDB project belongs. Use the following format:

  • For an IsogenDB project: http://<server name>/Isogen/V1

  • For a SpoolgenDB project: http://<server name>/Spoolgen/_api/V1

Bolt length units

Specifies the unit of measure used to display bolt length data on the isometric drawing. Acceptable values are User, mm, and in.

Bolt diameter units

Specifies the unit of measure used to display bolt diameter data on the isometric drawing. Acceptable values are User, mm, and in.

Coordinate units

Specifies the unit of measure used to display coordinate data on the isometric drawing. Acceptable values are User, mm, in, and ft/in.

Cut piece lengths

Controls how the software handles cut piece length values when importing a PCF. Acceptable values are Keep and Clear. When set to Clear, the software removes these lengths and summaries from the imported file. This is the default setting. To retain the identifiers, set to Keep.

When setting the value to Keep, you must manually recalculate the cut piece lengths if you add welds or couplings to the pipe. For assistance, contact Intergraph Support.

Default specification

Specifies the full path location to the primary specification to be used.

Default support category

Specifies the default category for new supports. Acceptable values are None, Fabrication, Erection, or Offshore.

External data on Generate Drawing

Controls the execution of the Get External Data (GED) function prior to drawing generation. If set to True, the software runs the GED function prior to drawing generation. If set to False, the software does not run the GED function.

External data on import

Controls the execution of the GED function on import of piping data. If set to True, the software runs the GED function when piping data is imported. If set to False, the software does not run the function.

GED configuration (Generate)

Specifies the path to the GED configuration file executed just prior to drawing generation.

GED configuration (Import)

Specifies the full path location to the GED configuration file that the software uses when you import piping data into the project.

GED configuration (Interactive)

Specifies the path to the GED configuration file that the software uses when piping data is edited using the Get External Data function.

Global offset

Defines the global offset that the software uses to determine the actual coordinates of the origin. For Metric, enter the values in meters. For Imperial, enter the value in feet. Setting this property also requires that Global Offset Source be set to Project Default.

Global offset source

Indicates the source of the global offset that the software uses. Acceptable values are User and Project Default. If you set this property to Project Default, you must also define a value for Global Offset.

Import directory

Specifies the full path location and folder name of the location in which the software places imported piping data files.

Imported part numbers

Specifies how part numbers are handled when importing a design file. The following settings are available:

  • Keep retains any part numbers present in the PCF or IDF. If no part numbers exist, Isogen assigns them during import using the settings specified in the import style associated with the project type.

Import

  • Clear removes any part numbers present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import.

This setting is equivalent to the Tools > Part Numbers > Clear command in Smart Isometrics and Spoolgen.

  • Assign clears any part numbers present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import, and then assigns new part numbers. Part numbers assigned are per pipeline. This setting is not available for a Smart Isometrics project.

  • Assign To All clears any part numbers present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import, and then assigns new part numbers. Part numbers assigned are per pipeline. This setting is not available for a Spoolgen project.

  • Assign Repeat Data depends upon whether it is the first time the pipeline is being processed or if it is a subsequent processing of the same pipeline. This setting is not available for a Smart Isometrics project.

    • Pipeline processed for the first time clears any part numbers present in the PCF, IDF or assigned by Isogen during import, and then assigns new part numbers using Repeat Style settings. If the Repeat Style settings match those used in the design phase, then consistency is maintained between the design and fabrication phases.

    • Subsequent processing of same pipeline clears any part numbers present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import. Part numbers assigned during the initial run, which are stored in the pipeline object data file, are reinstated. Any new part numbers are assigned using Repeat Style settings. If the Repeat Style settings match those used in the design phase, then consistency is maintained between the design and fabrication phases.

When a revised pipeline data file is imported, the part numbers might not match those previously created.

Import specs folder

Defines the full path location to the folder that contains the available specification files.

Imported split points

Specifies how split points are handled when importing a design file. The following settings are available:

  • Keep retains any split points present in the PCF or IDF. If no split points exist, then Isogen assigns them during import. These split points are retained.

  • Clear clears any split points present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import.

This setting is equivalent to the Tools > Clear Split Points command in Spoolgen.

  • Assign Repeat Data - This action depends upon whether it is the first time the pipeline has been processed or if it is a subsequent processing of the same pipeline.

    • Pipeline processed for the first time clears any split points present in the PCF, IDF or assigned by Isogen during import, and then assigns new split points using Repeat Style settings. If the Repeat Style settings match those used in the design phase, then consistency is maintained between the design and fabrication phases.

    • Subsequent processing of same pipeline clears any split points present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import. Split points that are assigned during the initial run, which are stored in the pipeline object data file, are reinstated. Any new split points are assigned using Repeat Style settings. If the Repeat Style settings match those used in the design phase, then consistency is maintained between the design and fabrication phases.

When a revised pipeline data file is received, the split points might not match those previously created.

Imported spool IDs

Specifies how spool IDs are handled when importing a design file. The following settings are available:

  • Keep retains any spool IDs present in the PCF or IDF. If no spool IDs exist, then Isogen assigns them during import. The assigned spool IDs are retained.

  • Clear clears any spool IDs present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import.

This setting is equivalent to the Tools > Clear Spool IDs command.

  • Assign Repeat Data - This action depends upon whether it is the first time the pipeline has been processed or if it is a subsequent processing of the same pipeline.

    • Pipeline processed for the first time clears any spool IDs present in the PCF, IDF or assigned by Isogen during import, and then assigns new spool IDs using Repeat Style settings. If the Repeat Style settings match those used in the design phase, then consistency is maintained between the design and fabrication phases.

    • Subsequent processing of same pipeline clears any spool IDs present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import. Spool IDs that are assigned during the initial run, which are stored in the pipeline object data file, are reinstated. Any new spool IDs are assigned using Repeat Style settings. If the Repeat Style settings match those used in the design phase, then consistency is maintained between the design and fabrication phases.

When a revised pipeline data file is imported, the split points might not match those previously created.

Import

  • Clear clears any weld numbers present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import.

This setting is equivalent to the Tools > Weld Numbers > Clear command.

  • Assign clears any weld numbers present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import, and assigns new weld numbers during the first import of the file. Weld numbers assigned are per pipeline with all welds having one sequence. This is the case for the first import only. On the second and subsequent import, the software copies the existing weld numbers from the previous version of the file, and then assigns weld numbers to any unmatched welds, starting with the highest value from the previous version. This setting is not available for a Smart Isometrics project.

  • Assign To All clears any weld numbers present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import, and then assign new weld numbers. Weld numbers assigned are per pipeline with all welds having one sequence. This setting is not available for a Spoolgen project.

  • Assign Repeat Data depends upon whether it is the first time the pipeline is being processed or if it is a subsequent processing of the same pipeline.

    • Pipeline processed for the first time clears any weld numbers present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import, and then assign new weld numbers using Repeat Style settings. If the Repeat Style settings match those used in the design phase, then consistency is maintained between the design and fabrication phases.

    • Subsequent processing of same pipeline clears any weld numbers present in the PCF, IDF, or assigned by Isogen during import. Weld numbers assigned during the initial run, which are stored in the pipeline object data file, are reinstated. Any new weld numbers are assigned using Repeat Style settings. If the Repeat Style settings match those used in the design phase, then consistency is maintained between the design and fabrication phases.

When a revised pipeline data file is imported, the weld numbers might not match those previously created.

Interactive spooling

Turns on and off the automatic allocation of spool names. The default setting is On.

Isometric North

Defines the location of the North arrow on the isometric drawing. Acceptable values are User, Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, and Bottom Right.

Material database

Defines the full path location to the material database used for additional material. You can create and modify the material database using Material Editor. If you do not specify a database, the software uses the sample database by default.

Parallel tolerance

Controls the angle tolerance that the software applies when determining whether to connect inline components. Type a value in radians.

Preprocessor configuration

Specifies the full path location to the .ppc configuration file.

Preprocessor on import

Controls whether piping data input files are pre-processed on import. If set to True, the software runs the PipingDataProcessor.exe file to pre-process piping data input files on import into the project. If set to False, the software does not run the file.

Project ID type

Indicates what the project uses to reference pipeline files. Acceptable values are Pipeline Reference, File Name, or Reference and File Name. The software requires that you define the Project ID type when you create a new Spoolgen or IsogenDB project. For more information, see Create a new project and Create an IsogenDB project.

Project work folder

Specifies the folder in which the software stores user data when it is checked out.

Repeat style

Indicates the style used for drawing level repeatability. Acceptable values include Spool, Check, Final-Basic, Final-Cut-List, Final-Erection, Final-Fab, Final-Weld-Box, and Flat-Spool.

Save checked out files with GED in Work folder

Controls whether the software saves GED process changes made to the piping object data (POD) file currently checked out from the project working folder during batch drawing generation. The default setting is False. When you set this option to True, the software saves the external data to the POD on which the Get External Data function is run. The software stores batch processing results about saved and unsaved POD files to a batch processing generation log file.

Save POD with external data (Batch Generate)

Controls whether the software saves GED process changes made to the piping object data (POD) file during batch drawing generation. The default setting is False. When you set this option to True, the software saves the external data to the POD file.

SmartPlant Foundation Plant

Specifies the SmartPlant Foundation plant with which you want to associate your isometric project.

SmartPlant Foundation Plant is specific to SmartPlant integration. A project must be registered before you can connect to the integrated environment to publish data. To register an isometric project with a SmartPlant Foundation plant, use the SmartPlant Registration Wizard to define these integration-specific project defaults. For more information about registering the project, see Register a project.

SmartPlant Foundation revision source

Specifies how the software obtains the revision information for the POD file. If you select Piping Data, the software obtains the revision directly from the file during the publish process. If you select SPF Schema, the software obtains the revision from the SmartPlant Foundation database.

When using piping data, the MAJOR-REVISION, MINOR-REVISION, and REVISION-SCHEME properties in the POD file must be populated. Typically, you use the Get External Data function to map the pipeline revision data to these three revision attributes.

SmartPlant Foundation signature

Identifies the unique four-character string that is specific to the registered project.

SmartPlant Foundation URL

Specifies the node name and virtual folder of the SmartPlant Foundation database with which you want to register the isometric project. Use the following format:

http://SPFServer/VirtualFolder

SmartPlant Server URL is specific to SmartPlant integration. A project must be registered before you can connect to the integrated environment to publish data. To register an isometric project with SmartPlant Foundation, use the SmartPlant Registration Wizard to define these integration-specific project defaults.

SPF attribute mapping file

Specifies the full path location to the attribute mapping that the software uses when publishing data to SmartPlant Foundation.

Spool naming method

Controls how the spool name is formed.

  • Use Import Properties uses the SGImport spool property settings to define the spool name. This is the default setting. For more information, see Define spool import settings using SGImport in the Intergraph Spoolgen Help.

  • Use Spool Naming Rule uses the spool prefix, identifier, and length values specified by the Spool Naming Rule property to define the spool name. For more information, see Define spool import settings using a naming rule in the Intergraph Spoolgen Help.

Straight length

Specifies the default length of pipe that the software uses for splitting long pipelines.

User Windows Authentication

Controls whether the software forces Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA) login when connecting to the Isogen database. Setting Use Windows Authentication to False enables you to log in to the Isogen database using any of the registered authentication providers. However, if you set Use Windows Authentication to True, you must log in using your Windows login exclusively.

Currently, this project default is available only for IsogenDB projects in Smart Isometrics and Spoolgen.

Weight units

Specifies the unit of measure used to display weight data on the isometric drawing. Acceptable values are User, kg, and lb.

XMpLant mapping file

Defines the full path location to the mapping file used to export piping data from Smart Isometrics or Spoolgen so that it can be imported into I-Configure. A default mapping file, POD_XMP_SP3D_MappingFile.xml is delivered to the Processing folder of the Tutorial project. Unless you specify an alternative file, the software uses the default mapping file. For more information, see Appendix: POD to XMpLant Mapping File Definitions.
