  1. On the left bar, click Quantification > Bill of Quantities .

  2. On the Bill of Quantities panel, click Options > Add BOQ structure.

    • Make sure that the name does not contain these special characters: < > : " / \ | ? * +

    • Make sure that the ID does not contain this special character: .

    • The value in the ID field is incremented by 1. However, you can manually add or change the value if necessary.

    • The application automatically generates the Code and is read-only. For example, if the parent structure code is 10, the code for the subsequent child items will be 10.1, 10.1.1, and so on.

    • Mapping between a recipe and a BOQ structure is based on Code.

    • When a recipe is associated with a BOQ structure, you cannot edit the ID in BOQ structure or recipe.

  3. Specify the required details and save.

  4. If necessary, add sub-nodes to the structure.

    SHARED Tip To add a node to parent structure, click Options on the parent node and select Add BOQ structure.

  5. Continue adding nodes and sub-nodes as needed.

Add a BOQ item

  1. On the BOQ structure node , click Options > Add BOQ item.

  2. Specify the necessary details and save.

  3. Continue adding BOQ items as needed.

Publish the BOQ structure to an integrated system

  • On the Bill of Quantities panel, click Options > Publish.

    • If there is an integration between the projects, the BOQ structures you create, update, or delete in Smart Build Insight are auto populated in Smart Build Controls.

    • You can see only the line items with quantity and UOM under Smart Build Project Register > BOQ Mapping > BOQ Structure. For more information, see BOQ Mapping.

    • The BOQ structure in Smart Build Insight will be seen as Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and the BOQ item will be considered as a work package (WP) in Smart Build Controls.
