On the left bar, click Quantification > Bill of Quantities .

On the Bill of Quantities panel, click Options > Add BOQ structure.

Make sure that the name does not contain these special characters: < > : " / \ | ? * +

Make sure that the ID does not contain this special character: .

The value in the ID field is incremented by 1. However, you can manually add or change the value if necessary.

The application automatically generates the Code and is read-only. For example, if the parent structure code is 10, the code for the subsequent child items will be 10.1, 10.1.1, and so on.

Mapping between a recipe and a BOQ structure is based on Code.

When a recipe is associated with a BOQ structure, you cannot edit the ID in BOQ structure or recipe.

Specify the required details and save.

If necessary, add sub-nodes to the structure.
To add a node to parent structure, click Options on the parent node and select Add BOQ structure.

Continue adding nodes and sub-nodes as needed.
Add a BOQ item

On the BOQ structure node , click Options > Add BOQ item.

Specify the necessary details and save.

Continue adding BOQ items as needed.
Publish the BOQ structure to an integrated system

On the Bill of Quantities panel, click Options > Publish.

If there is an integration between the projects, the BOQ structures you create, update, or delete in Smart Build Insight are auto populated in Smart Build Controls.

You can see only the line items with quantity and UOM under Smart Build Project Register > BOQ Mapping > BOQ Structure. For more information, see BOQ Mapping.

The BOQ structure in Smart Build Insight will be seen as Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and the BOQ item will be considered as a work package (WP) in Smart Build Controls.
