You can create and maintain unit rate tables that can be assigned to resources or cost categories in Smart Build Controls to specify the rate of pay for work performed during a specified period of time and/or to account for imported transactions whose cost is calculated based on units. Resources and categories must already exist in Smart Build Controls before rate tables may be assigned to them.

To view and update the resource rate tables, navigate to SBC Admin Sub Menus > Admin > Smart Build Admin > Enterprise Libraries > Resource Rate Tables.

Update BOQ Resource Rate Tables

  1. Click the BOQ Resource Rate Tables tab.

  2. In the Unit Rate Register panel, click the Insert Row icon to add a new unit rate table.

  3. Specify the required changes, and click SAVE.

    • When a new Smart Build project is created, by default a unit rate table of BOQ Table Type - Smart Build Project Rate is created. This unit rate table is only available for the individual estimate project.

    • To make the Unit Rate Table available for all the projects, select the BOQ Table Type as Enterprise BOQ Rate.

Update Project Resource Rate Tables

  1. Click the Project Resource Rate Tables tab.

  2. In the Unit Rate Register panel, click the Insert Row icon to add a new unit rate table.

  3. Specify the required changes, and click SAVE.

Update Unit Rate Table Details

You can update the following:

  • Unit Rate Table Matrix Definition – The category type(s) associated with a unit rate table’s definition which is included as the required attribute(s) for each rate record.

  • Unit Rate Table Rates – The rates associated with a unit rate table.

Update Unit Rate Table Rates Manually

  1. Click the BOQ Resource Rate Tables tab.

  1. Click the Project Resource Rate Tables tab.

  2. In the Unit Rate Table Register panel, click the ID hyperlink.

  3. In the Unit Rate Table Details panel, click the Rates tab.

  4. Click the Insert Row icon to add a new row.

  5. Specify the required details, and then click SAVE.

Import Rates

You can import the rates for a selected unit rate tables from an external file. This file can be a tab delimited text file or an MS Excel spreadsheet.

  1. Click the IMPORT tab.

  2. Click the Import spreadsheet data from a file .

  3. In the Import Spreadsheet window, choose a file to import.

  4. Click OK.

Update Matrix Definition

You can update the matrix definition for selected unit rate table.

  1. Click the BOQ Resource Rate Tables tab.

  1. Click the Project Resource Rate Tables tab.

  2. In the Unit Rate Table Register panel, click the ID hyperlink.

  3. In the Unit Rate Table Details panel, click the Matrix Definition tab.

  4. Click the Insert Row icon to add a new row.

  5. Specify the required details, and then click SAVE.
