This functionality was modified in an update. For more information, see Enable CFIHOS compatibility for a site (modified in an update).

This feature is available only for HxGN SDx sites.

By default, new SDx sites are not compatible with the CFIHOS standard (Capital Facility Information Handover Specification). This is an optional feature as all users of the software may not want CFIHOS compatibility.

To make a HxGN SDx site CFIHOS compatible:

  1. Download the SDx Load File Generator utility from Smart Community, and use it to generate the 00-LoadOptions\00-CFIHOSLoadOptions.xml file.

How do I access and use the SDx Load File Generator?

You can access the SDx Load File Generator in Smart Community by navigating to the following location: Downloads > SDx Operations and SDx Projects 2019 > Freeware Tools and Utilities.

You can use the SDx Load File Generator to create XML and CSV load files for setting up sites and plants and to load documents and data within SDx. These load files can be loaded into SDx using the Desktop Client Loader and Web Client Load Manager for XML and CSV load files, respectively. Detailed instructions on how to use the SDx Load File Generator is available in the Info section of each spreadsheet.

The following options are available in the Info section of the SDx Load File Generator spreadsheets:

    1. Format

      • SDx - Select the SDx option if you are using the delivered SDx database for setting up your site.

      • CFIHOS - Select the CFIHOS option if you are going to set up a CFIHOS-enabled site.

When you select the SDx or CFIHOS option, the Plant Operations/Project Execution option is selected by default as the purpose for setting up the plant operations or project execution environment. Depending on your requirement, you can select any of the other options below.

    2. Purpose

      • Data Capture - Select Data Capture if you want to set up a Data Capture environment.

      • Plant Operations/Project Execution - Select Plant Operations/Project Execution if you want to set up your plant or project.

      • PAB - Select PAB if you want to set up a Project As-Built environment. This option is enabled only if you select the CFIHOS format.

  2. Load the 00-LoadOptions\00-CFIHOSLoadOptions.xml file into the Desktop Client using the Loader.

This file performs a sequence of operations on the database to convert the site into a CFIHOS-compatible state. Once this file has been loaded, the conversion cannot be reversed.

The schema changes made during the conversion include modifying:

  • Relationship definition cardinality

  • CFIHOS compatible enums

The CFIHOS related schema, admin, mappings, and UI files are available in the SDx starter database while installing HxGN SDx.

Use the below table to determine if your site is CFIHOS compatible and whether to optionally upgrade to the latest CFIHOS version.
