We recommend that you generate a certificate for HTTPS using a domain server. For the SSL certificate to be provided by the Windows domain, the domain must already have a server that acts as a certification authority (CA).
Create a domain server certificate using the following steps:
-
Start IIS Manager, and navigate to the site.
-
In site Home, click Server Certificates.
-
In the Actions pane, click Create Domain Certificate to start the Create Certificate Wizard.
-
In the Distinguished Name Properties page, provide the following information and then click Next:
-
Common name - name for the certificate.
-
Organization - name of the organization using the certificate.
-
Organizational unit - name of the organizational unit using the certificate.
-
City/locality - city or locality of the organization or organizational unit.
-
State/province - state or province of the organization or organizational unit.
-
Country/region box - country or region of the organization or organizational unit.
-
-
In the Online Certification Authority page, provide the following information:
-
Specify Online Certification Authority - name of a CA server in your Windows domain.
-
Friendly name - name for the certificate (required).
-
-
Install the SSL certificate on the HxGN SDx application server. For instructions, see Install an SSL certificate (retired).
