The following applies if you are using a version of the software before Update 46. For the latest information, see Exclude search filter column set items.
When you use FILTER on the Search menu, you can exclude specific column set items from displaying in the filter list. This gives you the ability to control the column set items displayed for each API Entry Point object. Any search excludes the selected attributes from the Search menu criteria.

In the Desktop Client, locate the API Entry Point object, and click Show Column Set > Manage Column Items.

In the Web Client Filter Behavior column item, set the Exclude from filter property for each attribute you do not want to see when you use FILTER.

Click Administration > API Services > Regenerate Metadata to refresh the metadata.

If you exclude an attribute that is set as a default Search menu item, the exclusion takes precedence.

If you exclude every attribute, Name is automatically included by default in the filter menu.
