The following applies if you are using a version of the software before Update 12. For the latest information, see Register HxGN SDx application server .

To enable access control to TruView Enterprise or Cloud application server, you must register the HxGN SDx application server by completing the following steps:

  1. Log onto the TruView Enterprise or Cloud web portal using the administrator credentials.

  2. Click Administration in the home page, and navigate to the Server Administration page.

  3. Click Manage Client Apps panel in the Server Administration page.

  4. In the Manage Client Apps module, click Add Application to create a new client application in the Client Application definition window.

  5. In the Client Application definition window:

    • Type a name in the Application Name text box.

The name is the unique identifier (used within the OAuth2 protocol) of your application, and must be in lower case.

    • Enable or disable the type of roles your application will impersonate when using the API.

    • Callback URL - Based on the type of authentication approach you want the HxGN SDx to use while connecting to TruView Enterprise or Cloud server, do the following:

      • Single User approach - the field must be left blank when HxGN SDx follows the Single User approach when using TruView Enterprise or Cloud with HxGN SDx and its supported software.

      • Multi User approach - Type the URL path in lower case to connect to the HxGN SDx. For example the complete URL looks like the following: http://in-<SDx WebClient Server name>.ingrnet.com/<WebClient sitename>/viewers/truview/tvg-authorize.html

  • After registering and enabling the application in the TruView Enterprise Manage Client Apps web page, you must authorize the application by generating the access and refresh tokens. For more information on how to generate access and refresh tokens, see Generate authorization tokens (modified in an update).

  • The registered application can be viewed in the Manage Client Apps module.
