This functionality was modified in an update. For more information, see Explore laser scans (modified in an update).

With Leica TruView Enterprise Panoramic Viewer, you can do the following:

  • View tags related to the laser scan and navigate to them in the laser scan image.

  • Manage tags and view their properties.

  • Create and add TruView objects (Geotags) to the laser scan image. For more information, see Create a geotag.

  • Return to Site map.

  • Navigate to other laser scans from the current laser scan.

  • Measure the distance between any two or three points in the laser scan image.

  • View the co-ordinates of any point in the laser scan image.

Search for tags - Searches for a tag related to the laser scan image in the database based on the tag name you type in the Search for tags bar.

Return to SITE MAP Return to Sitemap - Displays the corresponding site map view for the laser scan.

ADD GEOTAG Add Geotag - Adds a geotag at the selected location in the laser scan image by creating a TruView object in the databases for the selected HxGN SDx objects. After adding the geotag, the corresponding TruView object is related to the laser scan. For more information, see Create a geotag.

Panning - To navigate across the laser scan image:

  • Click Traditional to enable the floating hand mode.

  • Click Panning to enable the traditional mode.

By default, the traditional mode is enabled while using a mouse and the floating hand mode is enabled while using a touch-enabled device.

Zoom - You can get a closer view or distant view of the object and area, by rotating the mouse scroll wheel.

Point measurement Display co-ordinates - You can view the co-ordinates of any selected point on a laser scan image.

Linear Measurement Linear measurement - You can measure the distance between any two points on a laser scan image.

Angular Measurement Angular measurement - You can measure the angle among any three points on a laser scan image.

Neighbors Neighbors - Click to customize the appearance of the neighbor laser scan tripods displayed in the current laser scan image. For more information, see Neighbor laser scans.

Mini map Mini site map - Click to view the mini display of site map for the laser scan image. By selecting this, you can view the actual scan position in a mini site map. The site map directional view changes as you pan across the laser scan image.

To disable the mini map display, click Disable mini site map.

Layers - You can display the laser scan image by applying any one of the following layer types:

  • Red Green Blue

  • Infrared

  • High Dynamic Range

  • Intensity GrayScale

  • Intensity Hue

    SHARED Tip While displaying the laser scan image using the High Dynamic Range layer, you can adjust the HDR Brightness by moving the Exposure slider.

    The number of layer types available for a laser scan image are dependent on the layers assigned to that respective laser scan in Leica TruView server.

SHARED Tip You can click the URL to directly navigate to the Leica TruView server web page.

View and manage tags

To view and manage tags related to the laser scan, search for the tag in the Search for tags bar, and select the tag from the search results.

On the selected tag:

  • Click Details to view the details of the tag.

  • Click Actions > ViewTaginLaserscan View Tag in Laser Scan to view and navigate to the tag's location in the laser scan image.

    If tag is related to multiple scans, you will be asked to select a scan from the drop-down list in Select a Scan to View window.

    SHARED Tip You can choose the scan based on its distance, by selecting the Sort by distance option in the Select a Scan to View window to display the scan's distance and sort them.

  • Click Delete Remove geotag to do either of the following based on the type of GeoTag:

    To delete a GeoTag, you must login as a user whose role is assigned to LScanEditor access group.

    • Connected GeoTag - If a HxGN SDx tag is related to a synchronized laser scan and has a matching Leica TruView GeoTag, you can:

      • Select Delete GeoTag from database > OK to delete GeoTag from the database along with its hotlink from laser scan.

      • Clear the checkbox Delete GeoTag from database > OK to remove the GeoTag hotlink from laser scan. This option allows you to continue to see the GeoTag object in the database.

    • Orphaned GeoTag - If a GeoTag is present and visible in the laserscan but does not have a matching HxGN SDx tag, you can:

      • In the Delete HotLink window, click OK to remove the GeoTag hotlink from laser scan.

        Orphaned GeoTags do not exist in the database as they are not synchronized from Leica TruView database.

  • You can navigate to a different tag view from the existing tag view in the laser scan, by searching for a different tag in the Search for tags bar, and selecting the tag from the search results.

  • If a HxGN SDx GeoTag object is deleted from the database, the tag can be viewed in the laser scan as the TruView object for the tag is not deleted. However, you cannot perform any actions on that tag.
