If a part has Warranty Days set up on the Parts header or is listed as a Part on a Warranty, and the part was issued earlier to the same equipment and same component location (note: null = null) within the max of all the defined warranty periods, then this part is determined to be "under warranty".

When the user clicks "Add to List" for a part under warranty, the system will:

  • Select the Warranty check box.

When the user clicks "Submit Transaction", the system will

  • Creates record in the warranty claim parts table, r5warclaimparts. (See Supplemental Requirements)

  • Selects the Warranty check box on the transaction line

  • Display a warning message with the success message in the message bar.

Save Triggered Warning - "Part %Part #% was previously issued to this piece of equipment and the same component location within the warranty coverage period."

If there are multiple parts that trigger a warning, the system displays a message for each part.

If the part was issued during the coverage period, the system selects the Warranty check box on the Transactions form.

If the user changes the Part to a part that is not under warranty, the system will clear the Warranty check box.
