Use the Hazards screen to define hazards.

  1. Hazard - Unique identification of the hazard. If you leave this blank the system automatically assigns a sequence number.

  2. Description - Short description of the hazard. Extended length up to 255 characters.

  3. Organization - The organization associated to the hazard.

  4. Status - System Codes entity HZST.

    1. Hazards are under revision control and can only be edited when the Status is Unfinished.

    2. Certain fields can be updated when the Status is Request Approval or Approved, but this depends on the Revision Control Setup. See Revision Control Setup.

    3. When you approve a new revision:

      1. The current approved revision is automatically superseded.

      2. If Organization Option SAFERREV is YES, the system updates the Safety tabs of the Equipment, Location, Category, Part, PM Schedule, and Standard WO screens with a matching organization where the hazard is used, and clears out the review data, rendering the Safety tab un-reviewed.

  5. Hazard Type - System Codes entity HZTP.

  6. Date Review Required - Enter a date on which you want to revisit this hazard and verify it is still correct.

SHARED Tip You can use this field on a Dataspy to find all hazards that require review.

  7. Revision Details - You will find the details on the hazard revision here. The revision number, who requested approval of the revision, and who approved the revision. You can also enter a Revision Reason, if required, explaining why the revision was created. All other revision related fields are protected and populated by the system only.

  8. Buttons:

    • Create New Revision - When you create a new revision the Status of the new revision will default to Unfinished. The system will not change the revision Status of the source hazard.

You can pick any previous revision as the source, even those that are superseded, letting you revert to an older revision if needed.

  9. Standard tabs - All standard tabs listed here are under revision control, which means you can only update data when the hazard is Unfinished.
