Prior to installation, an Oracle database character set must be chosen that will support all languages to be stored in the database.
HxGN EAM supports the following languages: Arabic, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
Choose a character set based on the languages to be used. The character set you choose must support all the languages to be used.
When uncertain, choose AL32UTF8.The character set cannot be changed to AL32UTF8 after
the database has been created. See Oracle Metalink note 260192.1 for a thorough discussion.

Because AL32UTF8 supports all languages, and character set cannot be changed to AL32UTF8
after the database is created, when in doubt, choose AL32UTF8.
