Installing HxGN EAM requires a series of high-level Oracle database administration, operating system administration, and high-level networking functions necessary to install and configure each component of HxGN EAM. We strongly recommend only qualified EAM personnel install and configure HxGN EAM.

See the following list for a basic description of each of the steps you must complete during the HxGN EAM installation.

See Oracle documentation for more information on installing and configuring Oracle components.

Installing Oracle RDBMS

o

Create the databases and database instances to store the HxGN EAM schemas.

Typically, you must create one database with three schemas: a production schema containing live data, a development schema containing data to use for testing without affecting production data, and a training schema containing data to be used for training employees.

Step 3. Creating the HxGN EAM database user

o

Create an Oracle user to interact with the HxGN EAM application, and then create the necessary schema objects using SQL scripts and a dump file.

Hexagon recommends creating three schemas: one for production, one for development, and one for training.
