Four new security features were added, for enhanced security while using the app. These four security features are controlled in base EAM using the following install parameters:
Install parameter |
Security feature enforced |
Exceptions |
MOBSCNCP if set to NO |
Prevents screen capture (photo and video) from within the app. |
iOS will not prevent screen capture. Android will prevent both screen capture and video recording. |
MOBCCPST if set to NO |
Prevents copy and paste from within the app – When the user is on edit mode / search bar long pressing a text field will do nothing. |
Android will have the Select All and Paste option display when long pressing, but they will do nothing. |
MOBSHARE if set to NO |
Prevents sharing and printing from within the app Sharing: When the user opens a document on the document tab, the ‘View Document’ will be hidden. Touching on the document will do nothing Printing: When the user prints a report – the following error message will be displayed: "Install parameter MOBSHARE must be set to YES to allow printing and sharing." |
None |
MOBRQPAS if set to YES |
Requires user to enter the device’s password when the user navigates focus from the app. If the user enters an invalid password or cancels this security interface, they will be logged out of the app. If the device does not have a password setup in the first place i.e., security pin/biometrics, then the system will ignore the setting of this install parameter and act like MOBRQPAS = NO – i.e., no security will be enforced |
Whenever user shifts focus from the app to either Take a picture, Scan barcode, Uploading Documents etc... (i.e., within the app and still logged in): Android will require the user to enter the password again when the app is backgrounded iOS will not require a password in this scenario |
