Mobile Device Management (MDM) is a methodology and toolset used to provide a workforce with mobile productivity tools and applications while keeping the devices and corporate data secure. As working remotely has become commonplace, mobile devices have become an integral part of most organizations - essential tools for productivity and efficiency. Employment of MDM enables IT and security personnel to manage all of a company’s devices regardless of type or operating system. Organizations practice MDM by applying software, processes, and security policies onto mobile devices and toward their use. Beyond managing device inventory and provisioning, MDM solutions protect the device's applications, data, and content.

Mobile Application Management (MAM) represents the software and services responsible for provisioning and controlling access to internally developed and commercially available mobile applications used in business settings, on both company-provided and “bring your own” mobile operating systems as used on smartphones and tablet computers. MAM provides granular controls at the application level which enable system administrators to manage and secure application data.

Enhanced security features to provide greater control over devices and what a user can and cannot do are supported through MDM settings or through Install Parameters at the application level. This document will outline the supported features and explain their functionality.
