Since the employees login with their own User ID there is no need to enter a password for the start, stop and completion transaction. And since the screen will automatically populate Employee based on the logged-on user, it is also advised to make sure that the employee cannot change Employee to another value.
Use screen designer and set the following fields:
-
Employee - Protected
-
Password - Hidden
-
Clear Employee/Password - Hide Button
After this configuration, when a user logs on to the application and goes to the Mechanic’s Workbench, their Employee code will automatically populate based on their logged-on User ID. And since the field is protected, they will not be able to accidentally change data for any of their colleagues.
Employees must log off after they are done with their transaction to free up the work station for their colleagues.
