On the Inspections tab of the Work Order screen, you can define the location of the problem as described on the Checklist tab. See the From Point and To Point fields above. Access to the Linear Location Details popup is also available on this tab.
When you define Aspects for inspection results for linear equipment check the Random Results check box. You can enter results for these aspects without having to define the Point Type and Point because the From Point and To Point are already available for that purpose, and you do not know where you will find problems
before the inspections starts. The time dependency capabilities are lost in that scenario.
It is not possible to do a regression analysis if the exact location (Point Type and Point) of the result is not known. If you still want to use the regression capability you
could pre-define several points where you do the measurements. For these points, the
system will perform the regression analysis. By selecting Random Results for the Aspect, you can also enter results randomly distributed over the linear asset.
