On the Linear Overview tab of the equipment screens, view features of the linear equipment and their respective location in a linear graphical fashion. This makes interpreting the data on the Linear References tab easier. Again, you will only see linear reference records where both Display on Overview is selected, and Class is entered. On this tab, you can also select work orders, inspection results, or checklist items attached to the header equipment.

Editing the linear overview, requires understanding these important attributes:

  • Default Filter - You can select Work Orders, Inspection Results, Nonconformities or Checklists. Depending on your selection, the appropriate node at the bottom of the overview will appear. The Dataspy dropdown will change accordingly. You can also make new Dataspies as usual. If you select "None" this option will hide the node at the bottom.

  • Fit to Window - Select Fit to Window to reset the screen to display the maximum length of the equipment (reset the Range Selector) and will reset the zoom level to the minimum. Equipment Length on this screen is derived from the equipment data, but can be influenced by actual work orders, checklist, or inspection results found. The Equipment Length over time may have changed, hence the possibility to find historical data that extends beyond the current length.

  • Range Selector - This toggle will show or hide the range selector. Drag the sliders to the position on the linear equipment that you are interested in. Changing the sliders will reset the zoom level to the minimum.

  • Effective - The date for which the overview is applicable. You can change this to a date in the past and verify how the road looked like then. A view of the future is also possible if you entered that data already.

  • Click Show Features to select which linear reference records should be visible and determine the sequence in which they appear. You can choose between records of the following types:

    • Linear References.

    • Points of Interest.

    • Related Equipment.

    • Related Parts.

  • You can show records from the Routes and Segments tab if you select Routes and Segments.

  • Specify the following information:

    • Show Classes - Select which classes of linear reference records should be visible and determine the sequence in which they appear. If no classes are selected in the Visible section, the system assumes you want to see them all.

    • Show Route Types - Select which type of routes should be visible and determine the sequence in which they appear. Unlike Classes, if no types are selected in the Visible section, the system assumes you want to see none.

Sequence for routes may be overruled by the Overview Sequence (highest priority) and Route Identifier (second priority). The sequence listed in the Visible section has the lowest priority.

    • Show Segment Types - Select which type of segments should be visible and determine the sequence in which they appear. Unlike Classes, if no types are selected in the Visible section, the system assumes you want to see none.

    • Default Color - Used if the linear reference record has no color specified.

    • Default Filter - You can select None, Work Orders, Inspection Results, Nonconformities or Checklists. Changing this value determines the starting value when you enter the tab and may have an effect when you return from the Preferences window.

    • Include Related Equipment in applied Filter - If selected, the system will also show work orders, inspection results, or checklists of the related equipment of the header equipment. For example, if a road is displayed and Default Filter is Work Orders, the system will show work orders directly attached to the road or any of its children. With this check box selected, the system will also display the work orders against the bus stops or traffic lights related to the road. If unselected the work orders for the bus stops and traffic light will not be displayed.

Selecting this option may slow down the searches.

    • Hide Routes - If selected the system will not show any routes in the Routes and Segments main feature.

    • Hide Segments - If selected the system will not show any segments in the Routes and Segments main feature.

    • Group Segments under Default Type - If selected the system will show all segments under the same segment type. The system will use the segment type where System Default is selected and where the system code is SEGM (Entity LETP). If there is no overlap this means that all segments belonging to a route will be displayed on the same line.

If unselected the Linear Equipment Type of the segment itself will be used instead. This could lead to multiple lines.

    • Default Preference - Determines the preference applied when you select the tab.

The popup has buttons to save any changes and to close the popup or to cancel any unwanted changes.

  • Select Preference - Use this button to quickly switch between pre-defined preferences.

If the Dataspy returns more than 500 records, the system will only display the first 500 and will not display the remaining records.

HOVER - Hover text is a fixed list of fields, except for the Work Orders, Inspection Results, Nonconformities and Checklists nodes, where you can determine the contents of the hover text yourself. The system will display the first 10 fields listed in the Layout section of the Dataspy.

The hover text will never display a field label if no value is associated. This is applicable for all nodes.

SCROLLING - You can click and hold an empty area of the overview and drag it left or right. This is like using the horizontal scroll bar.

You can also access the Linear Overview from the Work Orders screen. The only difference is that the initial display is based on the scope of the work order. The Range Selector sliders are set such that they represent the From Point and To Point of the work order.
