The user has the option at this point to begin the Translation process. The Error Text, the Menu Text, the Code Description Text, and the Boiler Text may be translated. Using a procedure that begins with navigating to one of the four Text tabs, the user uses the Dataspy to select the text to be translated and then clicks Save Grid to Excel. The system opens a new browser window and displays the exported records in Excel format. The user can save the file as necessary.

It is critical that the relationship between the control fields (Text ID, Text Type, and Language Code) and the Text fields (Current Text, Comparison Language Text, etc.) be maintained.

Example: User wishes to translate Menu Text records from English into Russian.

User clicks on the Menu Text tab and user the Dataspy to display the text records to be translated.

The user clicks Save Grid to Excel and opens the Excel® worksheet of the Menu Text records.

The user saves the grid as an Excel® workbook with a file extension of .xls. The user may translate the Menu Text records from English into Russian in the Comparison Language Text column.

There are several translation tools available on the Internet. For example, Google® Language Tools has shown the ability to translate groups of phrases and sentences from various languages to other various languages, while maintaining the required one-to-one relationship. The tools are not perfect and, as such, would require human oversight.
