In an Infor ION® environment, business transactions take place within an accounting entity and an enterprise location. The identification codes of these accounting entities and locations must be defined globally in an enterprise, known to each software instance connected to the Infor ION®. Such accounting entity and location definitions have close correlations to HxGN EAM Organizations as well as HxGN EAM Stores. While it is possible to define HxGN EAM organizations and stores using the exact structure and naming as those for accounting entity and enterprise location, it is difficult to make that a requirement for every situation.
HxGN EAM allows organizations and stores to have a different structure and naming, while providing a mapping to associate them to the Infor ION® accounting entities and locations. These tasks are needed for establishing such associations:
