Description
Define commodity codes to establish a method of classifying materials for purchasing and inventory. Commodity codes can identify specific types of goods, such as fiber optics, fuses, switches, etc., that can then be used to categorize specific parts in your inventory. Buyers can then associate particular suppliers with these different commodities and send out requests for quotes (RFQs) for that particular commodity. Storeroom and maintenance personnel can also use commodity codes to quickly access stock information.
