The Equipment tab displays equipment records based on the selections defined on the header record and the Equipment Classes tab. Once the list of equipment is displayed

  • Notice the equipment already attached to the Equipment Ranking of the batch update record. The Equipment Ranking column for this equipment will be filled in. And possibly the Ranking Index and Ranking Score as well.

  • Use the Select checkbox to identify the subset of equipment you would like to act on.

  • And then select an action from the Actions menu to update the selected equipment. You can see the results of any action on the Rankings tab of the equipment screens.

If you select a lot of equipment at once, please realize that the update of all that equipment may take some time. We recommend multiple smaller batches, rather than one big one.

Actions:

  1. Apply Ranking Values to Selected Equipment - This action will add the selected Equipment Ranking to the selected equipment.

    1. If this is the first ranking associated to the equipment and the type is "Reliability Index", then the system will automatically set Default and therefore also update the equipment header record. Otherwise, Default will not be selected.

    2. All survey answers will also be copied from here. Even if the survey is only partially answered.

    3. Ranking Score and Ranking Index will be copied if they were calculated on this screen. This may also influence Condition Index, Condition Score, Facility Condition Index, Risk Priority Number, Risk Priority Index, Criticality Score and Criticality or the Reliability Ranking related fields on the Record View of the equipment screens.

    4. The system will also bring up a popup screen where the user can specify the refresh frequency, the next calculation date and the processing sequence and, depending on the type of equipment ranking selected, the correction score ranking to be used.

  2. Detach Ranking from Selected Equipment - This action will remove the selected Equipment Ranking from the selected equipment.

    1. If Default was selected for the removed record and there is now only one ranking on the equipment left with the type "Reliability Index", then the system will automatically set Default for this leftover ranking, and therefore also update the equipment header record. Otherwise Default will not be selected. Note that the presence of ranking records of the other types ("Condition Index" and "Facility Condition Index" for example) do not influence this process.

    2. All survey answers will also be removed.

    3. This may also influence Condition Index, Condition Score, Facility Condition Index, Risk Priority Number, Risk Priority Index, Criticality Score and Criticality or the Reliability Ranking related fields on the Record View of the equipment screens.

  3. Set as Default for Selected Equipment - This action will make the selected Equipment Ranking the default for selected equipment.

    1. If the equipment already has a default this will be replaced with the new selection.

    2. This will influence the Reliability Ranking related fields on the Record View of the equipment screens.
