The generation process is started by clicking the Generate Equipment button on the Preview tab.
The generation process is then started in one of two modes: synchronous (real-time) or asynchronous (batch mode). The Organization Option "GENEQMAX" is set to 100 by default, but you can change this. If Generate Count is less than or equal to this value, then you can wait for the result when you click Generate Equipment. Otherwise, you must wait for the batch job to finish.
Even if the process is started asynchronous, and depending on the equipment status you selected, not all steps of the generation process will be completed. For generation scenarios where the equipment status is "Awaiting Purchase," the transactional data is always created asynchronous because the receipt of the equipment may take months to complete. During that time, we do not want commissioning work orders for that equipment in the system nor do we want warranty time to expire or meter entries to be allowed. The following matrices explain which processes run and when they will run.
