The Compatible Units tab of the CU Estimates screen allows a user to add and update the specific compatible units library records to be associated with a CU estimate. As a minimum, this tab shows a list of all compatible units library records as they are associated various work points of the header CU Estimate; as well as the Action type through which each compatible units library record is associated, and the Quantity of the compatible units library record to be associated for the work point. As with the CU estimate record view and work points tabs, a user has the option to define or update any of the Labor Adjustments, Materials Adjustments, and/or Tools Adjustments for a specific compatible unit as it is associated to the CU estimate.
The list of values shown in the lookup for the Compatible Unit field is dependent upon the work point specified on this tab - that is, if the selected work point is not flagged as a span, the Compatible Unit lookup will display only compatible units library records that are not of inactive status and which have also been flagged as available for work points. If the selected work point on this tab is flagged as a span, then the list of values shown in the Compatible Unit lookup will be further restricted to show compatible units library records not of inactive status, that are marked as both available for work points and available for span only.
When the user enters a new record on the Compatible Units tab, the Accounting Code, Accounting Code Org., Fixed Asset Code, and Fixed Asset Code Org. fields are defaulted from any values specified on the selected compatible unit record. Alternatively, if no values for Accounting Code and Fixed Asset Code have been specified for the compatible unit record, but Accounting Code and Fixed Asset Code are specified for the work point to which the compatible unit is associated, these fields will be defaulted as those specified on the work point record. Should neither the selected compatible unit nor the selected work point have an accounting code or a fixed asset code defined, then these fields will remain blank for the Compatible Units record.
