The Fuel Mix tab is used to record that a fuel type is consumed to produce a commodity. If multiple fuel types are used, the percentage of total capacity produced is calculated for each fuel type.
Example #1: Enter the fuels (Coal and Nuclear) used by the utility company (South Carolina Power) to produce the commodity (Electricity). In this example, a daily capacity of 1,000 MWH of electricity is produced using coal and 5,000 MWH of electricity is produced using nuclear energy. This allows HxGN EAM to calculate the percentage of each fuel type utilized to produce electricity. This percentage is used in later calculations when computing CO2e emissions.
Also note that using Date Effective field, changes in the mix of fuels utilized may be adjusted as the utility company changes/improves its operation.
