This procedure allows you to import commitment headers from an Excel or tab-delimited file.

  1. Navigate to Budgets > Commitments.

  2. In the Project Navigation Register panel, do the following:

    1. (Optional) In the green parameter bar, click the Project Controller ellipsis to select the project controller.

      All the projects that are controlled by the selected project controller are displayed.

    2. (Optional) In the green parameter bar, click the Project Manager ellipsis to select the project manager of the project.

    3. (Optional) In the green parameter bar, click the Portfolio ellipsis to select the portfolio to which the project belongs to.

    4. Select the required project row to view and edit its project details.

      The project details are displayed on the right-hand side.

      (Or)

      On the right-hand side, at the top of the screen, in the green parameter bar, click the Project ellipsis to select the required project.

  3. If required, click REFRESH to update the screen.

  4. Click the Import tab.

  5. In the Import Commitment Headers panel, navigate to Sheet > Import.

  6. Click Choose File to select the required file.

  7. Select the required Format as per the selected file. The available values are listed below:

    • Excel

    • Tab-delimited

  8. From Import Rule for Incoming Records, select the Create New / Update Existing option.

  9. Select the Preview data before saving check box to validate the data before importing.

  10. Click OK to import the file.

    Verify the data on the screen, if there are any missing or blank fields, click REFRESH to discard the data and repeat the above procedure to import the file again.

  11. Click the Save icon.

    Only the data from the first tab of the MS Excel spreadsheet is imported into the import spreadsheet.

  12. Click the Commitment Register tab to view the new commitment header.
