Change Management screens are used to manage updates of the project current budget and current forecast in EcoSys Projects. This includes the establishment of a change header with a series of dedicated attributes, including change type and time-phasing attributes. Change types supported impact the following:

  • Budget Change - current budget and current forecast

  • Scope Change - current budget and current forecast

  • Forecast Change - current forecast only

  • Forecast Variance Change - These changes will affect only the current forecast. They can only be generated by running the Submit Forecast Change action in the Forecast screen.

For Budget Change, Scope Change, and Forecast Change change types: after the change header is established, change line items can be created to represent the value of the change. Once the change line items are entered, time-phasing may occur only if Time-Phase is checked in the Project Setup screen (Projects > Project SetupGeneral). Once complete, a change is submitted for approval by running an action.

The change approval process references the change distribution lists established in the Workflow Admin tab on Project Setup screen (Projects > Project SetupWorkflow Admin). For Budget, Scope, and Forecast changes, thresholds established in the Change Admin tab on Project Setup screen (Projects > Project Setup –.Change Admin) are utilized. Forecast Variance change use the thresholds established in the Forecast Admin tab on Project Setup screen (Projects > Project SetupForecast Admin). This may include multiple levels of approval. After the final approval, the change line items are copied to the current forecast and/or current budget based upon the Change Type.

Project changes never impact the Original Budget – they impact the Current Budget.
