The Validation Checks tab helps you understand if a forecast variance change is ready to be submitted for approval. You can submit a forecast variance change for approval only if all the projects have been time-phased and any submitted forecast variance changes for previous project periods have been approved. Workflow users required to approve the forecast variance change as per threshold settings (see Project > Project Setup) must be defined properly as well.

You can view the status of the validation checks in the Validation Checks tab, in the Project Forecast Summary panel.

  • If the Failure Count is zero, it indicates that all validation checks have passed, and the validation checks appear with green background. Otherwise, it indicates that one or more validation checks have failed, and the failed validation checks appears with a red background.

  • If the validation check is red, error specifics are displayed in the Error Description column. Only after all the validation checks have passed (green), you will be able to submit the forecast variance change for approval.

Follow the procedure below to view the status of validation checks.

  1. Navigate to Forecasts > Multi Project Forecast.

  2. In the Forecast Settings panel, click the required Project ID hyperlink.

  3. In the Project Forecast Summary panel, click the Validation Checks tab.

  4. (Optional) To view the status of validation checks for a different project, perform the following:

    1. Click the Project ellipsis to select the required project.

    2. Click the Project Period ellipsis to select the required project period.

    3. Click REFRESH. The time-phasing data of the selected cost control object appears starting from the selected Project Period.
