This procedure allows you to manually add the estimate project structure line items. While adding new rows, do not choose Insert or Insert Multiple options, as this would not associate the estimate structure with the estimate project selected – choose Insert Under or Insert Under Multiple.

  1. Click the Structure tab.

  2. Click the Rows list and select Insert Under. This creates a new row under the selected line item.

    The Insert Under places the estimate structure below the selected line item. If the Insert Row icon is used, the estimate structure is placed at the same level as the selected line item. Hence it is recommended to use Insert Under.

    Do not choose Insert or Insert Multiple. If these options are utilized, the estimate structure will not be added as part of the estimate project unless the parent path ID is also specified.

  3. Type a unique ID.

  4. Type the required project structure line item Name.

  5. Click the Type ellipsis and select the required project structure type. The available project structure types are listed below:

    • Control Account

    • Planning Package

    • Summary Level Planning Package

    • WBS

    • Work Package

  6. (Optional) Click the Cost Control Level ID ellipsis and select Yes.

  7. Click the Parent Path ID ellipsis and select the required project structure.

    SHARED Tip To view the Project Object column, select the Project Object check box in the View Settings.

  8. (Optional) Click the Object Calendar ellipsis and select the calendar that you want to set for this object.

    The Object Calendar for the estimate root object is set to Standard by default.

  9. Click the Save icon. The full Path ID will be displayed.
