This procedure allows you to create risks and assign desired attributes through the import of an external file. This file can be a tab delimited text file or an MS Excel spreadsheet. This procedure also allows you to update the existing risks.

You can customize the view of the Import panel from the View Settings.

Follow the procedure below to import new risk elements.

  1. Navigate to Projects > Project Risk.

  2. At the top of the screen, in the green parameter bar, click the Project ellipsis to select the required project.

  3. Click Refresh for screen update.

  4. Click the Import tab.

  5. Navigate to Sheet > Import. The Import Spreadsheet dialog box appears.

  6. Click the Choose File button to select the required file.

  7. Select the required Format as per the selected file. The available values are listed below:

    • Excel

    • Tab-delimited

  8. From Import Rule for Incoming Records, select the Create New / Update Existing option.

    On selecting this option, the system makes sure if the Internal ID of the new risk records matches the internal ID of an existing records, then values on the existing records get updated.

  9. Select the Preview data before saving check box to validate the data before importing.

  10. Click the OK button to import the file.

    Verify the data on the screen, if there are any missing or blank fields, click the Refresh button to discard the data and repeat the above procedure to import the file again.

  11. Click the Save button.

    • Only the data from the first tab of the MS Excel spreadsheet is imported into the import spreadsheet.

    • Risk ID, Risk Description, and Status ID are the mandatory fields.
