This procedure allows you to define the Issue ID format, including the prefix, suffix, and the ability to increment by any provided number. It is critical that the Digits (number of digits including leading zeros) as well as the Increment is identified. If either digits or increment numbers are missing, the Issue ID will not generate as expected. The hierarchy path delimiter (typically a period, or ".") must not be used in either the prefix or suffix.
Project Issues cannot be created if this Issue ID format is not established.

In the Project Details panel, click the Project Settings tab.

In the Issue Settings section, type the required Prefix.
The prefix is added to the beginning of the Issue ID.

(Optional) Type a digit in Next ID Base.
The numbering of the Issue ID starts with this digit.

Type a digit in Digits (Max 20).
This is the length of the Issue ID.

(Optional) Type a required Suffix.
The Issue ID ends with this suffix.

Type a digit in Increment.
The Issue ID increments by this digit.

Click SAVE. The Issue ID appears in the Issue ID Example (Max 40) field.
