users are assigned access to Organization, Cost Objects, or Versions that belong to specific Security Groups. When a new user is created, the EcoSys administrator assigns the user one or more Security Groups by setting up Cost Object, Organization, and Version access. These access privileges can be modified at any time by an administrator with user access.

Before assigning Security Groups, the administrator must create them manually, or perform an XML import of cost objects (not organizations or versions). Any time a new cost object is imported into , the cost object is automatically added to a Default Security Group, which can be modified later. To create other security groups, an EcoSys administrator with user access must use the Cost Object / Organization / Version Security Groups screen.

The EcoSys Administrator must assign security groups to a newly created user before they can view any cost object, version, and organization data. Some users can view all data if they have a super user flag turned on.
