EcoSys utilizes transaction categories to define units of measure. This value is utilized for budget, commitment, actual, and forecast line items.

  1. Navigate to Enterprise Data > Maintain Categories and Values. The Select Category Type panel appears.

  2. Click the Transaction hyperlink. This displays a right side panel.

    Do not update information in the top panel. Doing so may impact system integrity.

  3. Click the Transaction Categories tab.

  4. In Maintain Categories panel, click the Unit of Measure category ID. The Maintain Category Values panel appears.

    Ignore the other values available for selection! These are system defaults. Modifications could compromise the integrity of the EcoSys system.

  5. To add a new value, perform the following actions in the Maintain Category Values panel.

    1. Click the Insert Row icon to add a new row.

    2. Type in a unique Value ID.

    3. Type in a required Value Name.

    4. Click the Parent ID ellipsis to select a required parent ID.

    5. Click the Save button.

      If building hierarchical lists: the parent entry must be created and saved before the child can be added.

      If building a hierarchical list and the current entry should be subordinate to an entry that has already established, select the Value ID of the parent in the field.

  6. To modify data, perform the following actions in the Maintain Category Values panel.

    1. Edit the required Value Name.

    2. Click the Parent ID ellipsis to select a required parent ID.

    3. Click the Save button.

      If the Value ID is changed, the new key will be assigned to any projects originally assigned with the old key value.

  7. To delete a value, perform the following actions in the Maintain Category Values panel.

    1. Click the row to be deleted.

    2. Click the Delete Row(s) icon. A confirmation dialog box appears to confirm the deletion.

    3. Click the OK button.

    4. Click the Save button.
