Cost accounts may be manually added or modified using the Maintain Cost Accounts screen.

Cost account structures may be hierarchical. When adding new data rows in a hierarchical cost account structure, do not choose Insert or Insert Multiple, as this would not associate the cost account with the appropriate parent cost account. Instead, select Insert Under or Insert Under Multiple.

  1. Navigate to Enterprise Data > Maintain Cost Accounts.

  2. To add a new row, do any of the following:

    • If the cost account structure is not hierarchical,

      • click the Insert Row icon to add a new row.

    • If the cost account structure is hierarchical,

      • click the cost account which will be the parent of the new cost account.

      • Navigate to Rows > Insert Under or Insert Under Multiple.

  3. Type in a unique Cost Account ID.

  4. Type in the required Cost Account Name.

  5. (Optional) Select the Active check box.

  6. (Optional) Select the Start Date.

  7. (Optional) Select the End Date.

  8. Click the Save icon.
