  1. Browse to the Source Template path and select the .ddt file to use as the source.

  2. Select the Data dictionary template option to compare the source template with another data dictionary template or select the Existing plant option to compare the source template with an existing plant's data dictionary.

  3. Depending on the option selected in the previous step, browse to the Target Template path and select the .ddt file to use as the target, or browse to the site server and select the Target Plant name for the plant to use as the target.

  4. Select Compare.

    An abbreviated version of the results displays in the Results window as the process progresses.

  • You can print the contents of the Results window by selecting File > Print.

  • You can view the entire comparison results by selecting Tools > View Report.

  • You can write the entire comparison results to a Microsoft Excel file by selecting Create Report or Tools > Create Report.
