JetStream is a new high-performance, streaming data server for HDS projects. It takes data from Cyclone software and sends high-performance data that result in improved productivity for CloudWorx. JetStream’s high-speed data server allows instantaneous loading of point cloud data sets of any size. Full-density point cloud rendering is achieved in real time, all the time, for panning, zooming, rotating, orbiting, and other interactions. JetStream Project Vault is an archive of project data. JetStream Project Vault provides a convenient, centralized project sharing platform, enhancing and simplifying multi-user, multi-project work by streamlining project data management and the services environment.

The JetStream option allows you to load the jetstream projects into Smart 3D.

You must have JetStream 1.0.1 software installed on the server computer. You must also convert the Cyclone based point cloud data to JetStream projects and store them into JetStream ProjectVault using the JetStream Generator. For more information on converting the cyclone data to JetStream projects, see Convert Cyclone data to JetStream projects.

Perform the following procedure to load the JetStream projects into Smart 3D.

  1. In the Import Point Cloud Data dialog box, select JetStream in the Point Cloud Source section.

  2. Click Browse in the Point Source Details section.

The Change JetStream Server/Port dialog displays.

  3. Type the JetStream Server Name and JetStream Server Port details in the respective text boxes.

This is a one-time configuration step for loading the JetStream projects.

  4. Click OK.

The Select JetStream Project dialog displays.

  5. Select the required project that you want to load, and click OK.

The selected project is loaded into the Point Source section of Open JetStream Point Cloud dialog.

  6. Select a coordinate system from the Coordinate Systems in Point Source list.

The Coordinate Systems in Point Source list contains all saved coordinate systems attached to the source ModelSpace View. The selected coordinate system is mapped to the drawing's WCS.

  7. By default, Meters is selected as units in the Distance Units section.

  8. Click OK to load the point cloud from the JetStream server.

You cannot append any new point source as reference when the JetStream point cloud is already in workspace.
