Smart 3D Version
10.1 (2014 R1)

Loads the Cyclone (ModelSpace View) point cloud data into Smart 3D.

  1. In the Import Point Cloud Data dialog box, select ModelSpace View in the Point Cloud Source section.

  2. Click Browse in the Point Source Details section.

The Select ModelSpace View dialog appears.

  3. Browse to and select the ModelSpace View data to import. If there are no ModelSpace Views configured, then Configure Databases.

  4. Click Open.

The Import ModelSpace View dialog appears, and the Point Source, Coordinate Systems boxes are filled based on your selection.

  5. Select a coordinate system from the Coordinate Systems in Point Source list.

The Coordinate Systems in Point Source list contains all saved coordinate systems attached to the source ModelSpace View. The selected coordinate system is mapped to the drawing's WCS.

  6. By default, Meters is selected as units in the Distance Units section.

  7. Click OK to load the point cloud from the ModelSpace View.

    • The point clouds loaded by CloudWorx are updated automatically to reflect any changes made in Cyclone to the point cloud in the source ModelSpace.

    • If you do not want the point cloud that is loaded in CloudWorx to reflect any changes made to the Cyclone database, create a unique ModelSpace and reserve it for CloudWorx use.

    • All the cloud points and other related data, including the clippings, and named user coordinate systems are loaded into Smart 3D. All of the named user coordinate systems in the ModelSpace View are mapped to Smart 3D user coordinate systems, prepended by "~". Any changes to the Smart 3D user coordinate systems list are not saved back to the Cyclone database when CloudWorx closes the ModelSpace View.

    • Use Fit to view the entire model, or use the other view manipulation commands to view only specific parts of the model.
