Defines two parallel planes in 3D along a specified axis and then hide the points outside the two planes, resulting in a controlled cross-section view of the point cloud.
Only one slice or section view can be active at a time (for example, a slice in the
Y-plane cannot co-exist with a slice in the X-plane). Axis is defined in view coordinates.
Define a slice

Select CloudWorx > Clip Point Cloud > Slice.

Select the required slice from the following:

X-axis

Y-axis
-
Z-axis

Slice Forward

Slice Backward

Input data points to represent the first plane and the second plane.
These two planes form the slice that is applied to clip the points.

Use the X-axis
to define two parallel planes whose normal direction is X-axis, all the points not
between the two planes are clipped out.

Use the Y-axis
to define two parallel planes whose normal direction is Y-axis, all the points not
between the two planes are clipped out.

Use the Z-axis to define two parallel planes whose normal direction is Z-axis, all the points not between the two planes are clipped out.

Use the Slice Forward
to move the existing slice by one step (equal to the thickness of the slice) in the
positive direction along its axis.

Use the Slice Backward
to move the existing slice by one step (equal to the thickness of the slice) in the
negative direction along its axis.
