Scenario 1: Freestyle viewing and site seeing using a KeyPlan and TruSpace

You can synchronize the viewpoint in the active Smart 3D viewport to be driven by the viewpoint in the TruSpace viewer. When synchronized, the Smart 3D viewpoint automatically follows the TruSpace viewpoint. You might find viewing to be more accessible in the TruSpace viewer, because TruSpace content is based on each scanner's position.

  1. Launch a KeyPlan (already prepared) under a database.

  2. Launch TruSpace from a scanner displayed in the KeyPlan viewer.

  3. Enable sync of View Point.

The active Smart 3D viewport is synchronized with the TruSpace viewer.

  4. Switch to the TruSpace viewer.

  5. Perform viewpoint manipulations to look at a feature of interest.

The active Smart 3D viewport automatically matches the TruSpace viewpoint.

  6. In TruSpace, you can jump to a neighboring scanner position.

The active Smart 3D viewport updates automatically.

  7. You can also switch to another scanner position from the KeyPlan viewer.

The active Smart 3D viewport in Smart 3D updates automatically.

  8. Use the Perspective Camera Off to conveniently switch back to parallel projection.

The Smart 3D view that is used to open the Truspace is synced with the TruSpace view. If you close the Smart 3D view that is in sync with Truspace, then the last active view of Smart 3D is synced with Truspace.

Scenario 2: Pick to support the CloudWorx Fit Pipe command

You can pick a point on a pipe in the TruSpace window, and grow it into a construction line for pipe.

  1. Launch a TruSpace viewer from which the pipe of interest is visible.

  2. Enable Pick on Cloud.

  3. You can enable View Point if you cannot see the results in any viewport.

  4. Run Fit Pipe. Use the Single Pipe option. Smart 3D waits for a pick to be used to grow a cylinder (pipe).

  5. In TruSpace, manipulate the view to the right place.

  6. Pick a point in the TruSpace viewer to grow into a pipe.

The Smart 3D pipe (or pipe center line) is created.

Scenario 3: Use a Quick Limit Box tool

A limit box is a popular clipping tool for when you work with a small area of points. The Quick Limit Box tool uses a single pick in the TruSpace viewer to define the center of the area of interest. A limit box is applied with a pre-defined size around that center.

  1. Launch a TruSpace viewer from which the region of interest is visible.

  2. Enable the Quick Limit Box.

  3. Adjust the range of the Quick Limit Box in the edit box next to B=.

  4. In TruSpace, switch to the Quick Limit Box mode.

  5. In the TruSpace viewer, pick on the needed center point.

The Smart 3D viewports are updated with the corresponding limit box.

  6. You can use Limit Box Off command to disable limit box clipping.
