Creating a base configuration is a collaboration between your IT department and system administrator(s). This configuration is performed in Server Manager and the Web Client. The information below guides you through the HxGN SDx server setup and site setup process.

Before you start installing software, you have to decide if you are setting up a default SDx configuration or a CFIHOS-compliant configuration. If you choose a CFIHOS-compliant configuration, you must first enable a CFIHOS compatible site before you begin setting up your site.

Plants

Create the plant either interactively or using Load Manager. See Create the PBS.

Host

Create the host definition in the Web Client. See Create a new host.

Vault

A vault is an identified directory on the network used to store the physical files associated with an object. See Create a new vault.

Organization

Organizations are key to the security of the system. Users are members of organizations with security rules defined to restrict access to documents and data based on their originating organization. Organizations are created in the Web Client using the Business Administration feature set. See Configure companies and organizations.

Initial User

Create the initial users required to get the system up and running. See Create a new user.

Work process configuration

Many SDx work processes are managed by predefined workflows that support optional branches and other configuration options or advanced work process remodeling. See the Configure workflows for SDx Projects and Configure workflows in SDx Operations to understand the options available.
