  • SmartPlant Attribute Manager can only be used to manage attributes in a system configured to contain a classification tree, related column sets, and a library of attributes created as column items. These items can then be managed using Attribute Manager. For more information on the configuration of your system, see your system administrator.

  • SmartPlant Attribute Manager does not support modifications of document class definitions or document classifications.

SmartPlant Attribute Manager is an administration application that allows you to easily visualize and manage attributes that can be allocated to existing classifications configured in your system. Attribute Manager displays these attributes in a matrix, which can be used to pick and organize the correct attributes for the right classification types. These attributes can then be displayed in dynamic sections in the appropriate form.

Each attribute represents a property definition or relationship definition exposed from an applicable interface definition modeled in HxGN SDx. An attribute is persisted in the database as a column item, and may be associated with any applicable column set. When an attribute is allocated to a column set, the display item is displayed in any forms that it has been assigned. Using SmartPlant Attribute Manager allows you to:

  • Visualize specific classifications, columns sets, and their attributes in an easily navigated grid view.

  • Edit the attributes for a column set to meet the schema requirements.

  • Manage the content of column sets and change how they dynamically generate display items on related forms.

  • Add existing attributes to specific classifications and their column sets.

  • Create new attributes and the supporting valid schema metadata for a column set.

  • Manage the sequence order of attribute column items as they appear in a column set.

  • Propagate an attribute sequence and apply the sequence to each column set in the grid view.

  • Create new sections and apply them to attributes to group them in sections in dynamic forms.

SHARED Tip For more information on sections and dynamic forms see Configure forms.
