The Define General Settings page allows you to add and update application-level settings.

1. Log on to HxGN SDx Dashboard.

2. Click Data Capture Administration to open the Data Capture Administration module.

3. Click Central Settings to view the Define General Settings page. You can customize any of the following settings as per your requirement:

   • In the Ignored Files Path box, type a file path that will contain the ignored files.

   • Type a numeric value that represents the period of time, in seconds, up to which the application will wait for a response from SmartPlant Markup.

   • Select the Auto Generate Thumbnails check box to allow thumbnail generation for each file during the document discovery task.

     You can clear the Auto Generate Thumbnails check box to avoid the generation of thumbnails during the document discovery task. Thumbnail generation takes considerably more time to complete the document discovery task.

   • Select the Auto Resolve Duplicates check box to allow the software to resolve the duplicate document conflicts.

     When this Auto Resolve Duplicates check box is selected, if a new file is found in the document discovery task having modified date falling after the modified date of the master file or the candidate file attached to the document, the software attaches the new file to the latest version of the document, instead of creating a duplicate document.

   • Select the Auto Generate PDF check box to allow generation of .pdf files for each file during the document discovery task.

     

     • All .pdf files generated by the Document Discovery Task are in the PreProcessedAlternateRenditions folder. This folder is in the same location as the native files before the Document Discovery Task. All generated .pdf files are available in the database.

     • You can provide .pdf files present in the PreProcessedAlternateRenditions folder as an input to the PDF reader preprocessor module for generating the corresponding content files.

   • Select the Enable case insensitivity when comparing data for inconsistencies checkbox to ignore case sensitivity, when checking for inconsistencies present in property values of a selected tag available in different domains.

     This option can be set when generating inconsistency results using the following options:

     • In the Data Capture Tags module > Master Tags page. For more information, see View inconsistencies in master tag properties.

     • In the HxGN SDx Desktop Client, search for a Data Capture Inconsistency report, right-click on it and select Run Report to generate the report.

   • In the Max size for processing drawing files without preprocessed content files (MB) box, you can type the maximum limit for the size of the drawing file which is allowed to be processed by the application without using the pre-processed content files for drawing file. The default value is set as 1MB. We recommend to use the pre-processed content files for extracting content from drawing file whose size is 1 MB or more for quick processing.    • Click Save.
