You can display the chart report results grouped by the physical objects and their properties. There are three grouping options in the Specify Grouping page.

  • Single Grouping uses a single property using a set criterion to form a specific grouping.

  • Multiple Grouping uses multiple properties, which allows the user to create more complex groupings.

  • Using Run Time Values grouping uses a single property to form a specific grouping, which is only generated at the report run time.

Using a single property

  1. In Specify Grouping page, select Using Single Property option.

  2. Click Create Grouping to open the Grouping Administrator page.

  3. In the Create Grouping list, select the property required.

  7. Click Finish to add the groupings into the Grouping selection list in the Specify Grouping page.

  8. Click Finish to run the report.

Using Run Time Values

  1. In Specify Grouping page, select Using Run Time Values option.

  2. Click Create Grouping to open the Grouping Administrator page.

  3. In the Create Grouping list, select the property to base the groupings on. For example, Category.

    • The dialog validates that an eligible property has been selected and only allows you to progress if the selection is valid.

    • After you select a property, you cannot add any further properties to groupings.

    • Click Calculate Groupings to display information on how many groupings will be created at run time for the selected property. If the property selected has a large number of distinct values, this would create a large number of groupings, which may be unwanted.

  4. Click Finish when you have selected the property.

A message appears in the Grouping Selection dialog box stating that groupings will be generated at run time using the property selected.

  5. Click Next to specify any series grouping, or click Finish to close the Specify Grouping page and run the report.
