Server Execution failed when retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID - HxGN SDx - Update 64 - Administration & Configuration

Problem

An error occurs when extracting content from latest documents to which Microsoft Office (97-2003) files are attached.

Solution

The error occurs when the application pool of the corresponding site does not have administrator permissions in Internet Information Services (IIS). To grant the required permissions, complete the following steps on the application server:

1. Assign the user account of the application pool to the Administrators group.

2. Ensure the Administrators group has the following permissions:

   • Full Control

   • Modify

   • Read and Execute

   • List Folder Contents

   • Read and write permissions on every directory of the website on which the application pool will run.
