General objects

  • Avoid deleting any objects provided with the software, including column items, display items, methods, widgets, feature sets, entry points, and so forth. In most cases, you can hide these objects from users by editing relationships or access control.

  • You can disable existing entries in enumerated lists but do not delete or terminate them.

  • Do not delete any delivered properties, interfaces, or relationship definitions. In most cases, you can limit exposure to these items by configuring the user interface.

  • Do not remove display items from form sections or column items from column sets. Instead, create and implement new forms or column sets without the items you don't want to include.
