When a new user is added to a role, you can add the new user to any started workflow so they can immediately begin to participate in the process. The system automatically creates new workflow steps for any newly created users and sends notifications to their To Do List so they can immediately start to contribute in the specific workflow.

In the Web Client, select the business object, workflow instance, or workflow template, and click Actions > Update Role Assignments.

If the action is performed on a instantiated workflow, the system only creates new workflow steps for the new users for that workflow.

If the action is performed on a workflow template, the system creates new workflow steps for the new users for all workflows.

If the action is performed on a business object, the system creates new workflow steps for the related workflow.

The Update Role Assignments methods scan through the workflow and finds the steps that are assigned to the role and automatically creates the new workflow steps for the new users.
