The following information describes the Signature Request workflow. It explains what can and cannot be changed.
Remodel the work process
Work process remodeling, including creating new steps, requires changes to the underlying workflow template. For more information, see the rules for work process remodeling in Configure workflows and the detailed procedures in How to Configure the Workflow Model.
Details of internal process steps
If the system fails to generate and attach any of the PDF renditions, it directs the workflow to the Correct failure step.
The steps that make up the workflow are described in the following table.
If you choose to edit the workflow, do not remove any steps marked as mandatory.

Signature request generate PDFs |
Generates a PDF rendition for any files attached to the signature request. If rendition generation is successful, the next step is Validate total file size of generated PDFs. If generating the PDF or attaching it to the renditions fails, routes to Signature request correct failure. |

Validate total file size of generated PDFs |
Validates that the total size of the generated PDFs is within the allowable limits. If there is no deviation, the next step is Relate signature request to generated PDFs. If any of the file size exceeds the default size, routes to Resolve file size on signature request. |

After the above validations pass, the generated PDFs are related to the signature request. The next step is Set signature request issue state to INITIATED. |

Changes the status of the signature request to INITIATED. If this step is removed, the signature request status will not be modified. The next step is Submit signature request. |
